Help us to save more lives!
Only with your support, we can save stray dogs from the street, drive prevention initiatives, such as education, neutering and promoting mandatory chipping and can help local communities to build more private rescue centers and non-kill shelters to take more stray dogs off the street and into safety.
You have several possibilities below how can help. The abandoned dogs that are fighting for survival and who we can rescue with your help are saying Thank You For Your Support!
ADOPT A DOG
If you are interested in adopting one of our foster and shelter dogs, please contact us using the form below. You can also reach out via Facebook (click on Facebook icon below and it will lead you straight to our Facebook page). Get in touch with us and we will explain Zero Stray Pawject's easy adoption process. All of our dogs have been tested for temperament, our dogs are vaccinated, healthy, chipped, and have their medical records up to date. We have a lot of “Family Dogs” who just don‘t have a Family yet and were the unlucky ones affected by a combination of the economic crisis and irresponsible dog ownership! We have successfully matched 5 dogs with US families within the past year without the family ever having met their dog beforehand. The reason for the success is that we take the time to match the right dog with the right home. We know our dogs inside out and we want to get to know you! Adopting a dog from Zero Stray Pawject Mykonos is important to help us make space for another dog that is currently facing bad odds on the street but – space permitting – could be saved and housed in proper care. We will take the time to match you with the right new family member. We believe a dog is a decision for life and we will also make sure we will be there all along the way, even after you adopted, which is different to many other shelters and organizations. Go to "our dogs" and see whether you will fall in love with one of our amazing dogs...
SPONSOR A DOG
If you cannot adopt, consider sponsoring a dog until your sponsored dog gets adopted. A monthly sponsorship of EUR 50 (US$ 60) provides each dog with basics including food, mandatory medical care (heartworm, tick and flee prevention medication), and direct operational costs (no overhead or admin costs). Sponsors are vital to maintain our rescue center. We are privately funded and don't receive any governmental funding. Hence, we rely on sponsors to ensure our dogs are safe and are living under animal welfare conditions, as laid out under "The Bill of Rights". If you want to help us maintain our rescue center and become a sponsor click the "Donate" button of your preferred currency ($ or €) below and set up your dog's recurring payment. After you have done that, you should email us using the form in the bottom so you can tell which dog you are sponsoring; we will add your name on your dog's page. Having your name added to our website behind your dog will give you transparency, that only you are sponsoring "your" dog. If you prefer to stay anonymous, you can do so. Our sponsors receive updates of "their dog" and a video twice per year (March and September), so although you may not be able to meet your dog, you can hear about his/ her progress whilst we are working on adopting him/her. Your name will also be put next to on the laminate of your dog in our private rescue center. As of October 2016, we have 29 sponsors and as soon as we have all 44 dogs sponsored, we can roll out to the next island and help more stray dogs in need with YOUR help.

Monthly sponsorship contributions unfortunately only cover basic medical "maintenance" needs. Other needs such as neutering or more complex operations need to be covered by other sources. In addition foster and shelter facilities, require building and maintenance. What happens when a water tank needs repair or a shelter needs to increase its capacity? One-off donations are the main funding sources for such needs. All sponsorships and donations are tax deductible in the US as a 501(c)3 non-profit and in Germany as a “eingetragener Verein” to Zero Stray Pawject Germany e.V., our sister company. If you are considering a donation, please click one of the donate buttons (one is for US$ and the other for Euros) below and use a credit card or debit/ATM card:

SHELTER OR Foster
If you operate a shelter or foster facility, and would like Zero Stray Pawject to come to your community, please contact us using the form below.
Maybe you are interested in fostering a dog until he gets adopted? When you foster, you agree to take a previously homeless dog into your home and give him or her love, care and attention, either for a predetermined period of time or until the dog is adopted. Fostering a dog is one of the most rewarding experiences you can have (other than adopting, of course). By taking an animal in need temporarily into your home you are freeing up a spot so we can take in another dog that is dying on the street. You can give your foster dog the time he needs to be ready for adoption. Contact us, using the form below.
Why not spend your next vacation at one of our shelter or foster facilities? Come and lend a hand! Share the joy of caring for these dogs and give them the gift of human contact. They would particularly love to be walked outside or just to be petted! If you are interested, please fill the form below.
Other ways to help:
Maybe you want to donate in-kind: the dogs need dry and wet food, basic medical care such as heart-worm, flea and tick prevention (Bravecto). Maybe you want to donate dogs beds, especially for our older dogs (dogs beds, that dogs cannot chew or destroy as otherwise there is a risk of them swallowing the interior of a dog bed, which results in the dog needing to undertake a surgical procedure to remove it).
Or even on a smaller scale, if you are an Amazon buyer, Amazon (not you!) will pay 0.5% for qualified charities. Amazon approved Zero Stray Pawject in August 2016!
