Zero Stray Pawject's focus is rather on tackling the root-cause of stray dogs. See "The Pawject", which we launched in Aegina, Greece. No shelter will ever be big enough to accommodate every stray dog. And sadly, there will never be enough families to take in every shelter or street dog. That is why we believe that it is more important to find the root-cause of why there are so many dogs on the street and stop dogs from ending up on the street in the first instance, so that shelters can finally cope.
However, whilst adoptions is not our main focus, we help our partner shelters and other rescue organizations with adoptions of dogs that have been waiting for a long time for a home. As animal lovers we also sometimes rescue dogs from certain death ourselves and find them with a loving home. Many of the dogs who have waited for a long time need a more targeted approach to find the right home. We put a lot of effort into matching the right families with the right dogs and follow a very thorough adoption process that makes every adoption so far 100% successful. Our adoption process is very personalized and we are there even after the dog got adopted and help with onboarding and stay in touch with everyone who adopted from us.
