Prevention is cheaper than treatment.
Our proof of concept on Aegina Island achieved an 85% reduction in stray dogs within approximately 3 years, while also reducing long-term public costs.
But the biggest lesson was this:
For every €1 invested into PREVENTION — through microchipping, registration, and neutering of OWNED dogs — €11 were saved versus dealing with the consequences AFTER the problem of strays occurs through TNVR programs, shelters, adoptions, public health costs, and long-term stray management.
This is no longer just an animal welfare issue.
This is a societal issue.
It is about building modern infrastructure.
It is about reducing pressure on public funding and public safety, improving tourism, boosting public health outcomes, and creating more sustainable and financially attractive cities and municipalities.
Reactive systems are financially unsustainable. Mayors cannot shelter their way out of a stray crisis.
The future belongs to prevention-based models built on accountability, data, enforcement, education, and collaboration. And smarter public spending.
Today, as we work alongside more than 200 municipalities, over 2,500 law enforcement officers, veterinarians, and local communities, one thing is becoming increasingly clear:
Prevention works.
